Train in the Woods

BICYCLING:  Bring your own or rent one nearby. Ride the "Rails to Trails" network through the Beautiful Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.

     Midnight Madness Mountain Bike Race:  AUGUST 20th-21st at Ole Bull State Park. For more information, call 814-435-5010.

     Laurel Classic Mountain Bike Race:  September 10th.  11 mile beginner coarse & 22 mile Expert coarse. This is    a very intense race. For more information, call 1-570-724-1926.

Hiking:  The most extensive and beautiful network of hiking trails in Pennsylvania. Some of the most awe inspiring sights are only accessible with hiking trails in and around Tioga County.

Horseback & Covered Wagon Rides:  Local trips through the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. Trips can be 1/2 day, full day, or overnight. For more information, call Mountain Trail Horse Center @ 1-570-376-5561.

Canoeing, Kayaking, & Rafting:  All area lakes are open to canoeing and kayaking. Take an exciting trip down Pine Creek in high water, or a leisurely cruise in the summer time. Equipment rentals are nearby. 

Swimming:  You can take a dip in any deep hole in refreshing Pine Creek. Some of our area lakes have beach front swimming areas. Cowanesque Lake, Hills Creek State Park, Lyman Run State Park, and Tioga-Hammond Lakes have these accommodations to offer.

Train Rides:   Pine Tree Lodge is located 13 miles from Tioga Central Railroad. See the countryside by rail. Indoor cars, open-air observation cars, and even dinner cars served with a meal are available. For more information, contact Tioga Central Railroad @ 1-570-724-0990.

Photography, Sightseeing, & Wildlife Veiwing:  These activities go hand-in-hand with the country-side. See a beautiful Sun-rise or Sun-set. Spot an animal baby in the Spring time or photograph a waterfall. Go out after dark with a spot-light, a you will see a many nocturnal animals. In the fall, the leaves begin to change into one of the most spectacular times of the year!

Running: God's Country Marathon - June 4, 2011 - June 7, 2014. The God's Country Marathon features the scenic 26.2 mile course from the Galeton High School to historic downtown Coudersport.  Start time is 7:00 am sharp.  Pre-registration by May 31st, and save $10.
